China Arts Group Presents North American of Dance Drama The Red Dress

China’s historical contribution to the world of theater and art will be in full evidence March 6-9 for four performances when the 45 dancers of China’s Ningbo Performance & Arts Group (CAEG) present the colorful and spectacular dance drama The Red Dress at Lincoln Center’s Koch Theatre. It’s being produced under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture for the People’s Republic of China.
The lavishly-costumed production is described as "a tale of loyalty, tradition and love." It’s the story is of a couple promised in marriage in their youth, committed until distance separates them. The woman remains faithful and many years for her betrothed to return and fulfill her dream of wearing a traditional red wedding dress.
CAEG plays to vast audiences worldwide annually with more than 5,000 shows and exhibitions. This production has won top China awards in excellence.
China Ningbo Performance & Arts Group, whose productions focus on Southern China and the characteristics of Ningbo as a port city, includes two award-winning opera companies, a dance company, singers, children’s theatre, and design center.
