An all-star benefit staged reading of The Poets Amityville by Drama Desk award winner and Emmy nominated writer Eugene Pack was presented at Guild Hall in East Hampton this past Sunday August 28th with Matthew Broderick, Stockard Channing, Carol Kane, Tovah Feldshuh, Treat Williams, Dayle Reyfel, Richard Kind, Patrick Boll, Geraldine Hughes, and Chloe Dirksen. The comedy with an ensemble of stellar actors centers on an adult education poetry class on Long Island. The poetry contest prize, a trip to Dublin, ignites a fierce competition amongst the students giving the actors witty banter to play as they all vie for the coveted trip.
Lorraine Bracco introduced the reading. A portion of the proceeds benefited The Felix Organization to help enrich the lives of children who are growing up in the foster care system.
