Broadway’s Favorite Ingénue Sutton Foster wowed a packed house at BAY STREET THEATRE in Sag Harbor, where the Tony Award winner held a captive audience in the palm of her hand. Her intimate concert included songs from all of her Broadway shows along with several surprises from her debut album WISH. Foster performed memorable covers of Sunshine on My Shoulders, My Heart Was Set on You, Once Upon a Time, Up on the Roof that were moving indeed and she did a hysterical rendition of Air Conditioner.
At one point she had her musical director/pianist, Michael Rafter, put several songs into a mug marked HO and an audience member picked out her next number, a rousing rendition of Don’t Rain on My Parade. A melody of Anyone Can Whistle paired with Being Alive was especially poignant. The star stayed for well over an hour to meet and greet fans at the after party held right on the Bay Street stage. – PC
