A celebration of women at Guild Hall in East Hampton.
July 30, 2017: The Neo-Political Cowgirls’ (NPC) hosted Andromedas’ Sisters at Guild Hall in East Hampton to celebrate women’s capacity to support each other and change the world. Inspired by the moment in NPC’s production Andromeda in which Poseidon’s daughters swim to Andromedas’ aid. The event raised funds for The Neo-Political Cowgirls’ theatrical and educational programming, while highlighting the work of women’s causes and the words of female playwrights.
The three inspiring segments to the celebration were as follows:
4:00pm– Women’s Advocacy Panel: A moderated discussion with representatives of The Retreat, The Coalition for Women’s Cancers, Women’s Prison Association, and others. They discussed the work they do and its implications within our current political landscape.
6:00pm-VIP Garden Party: A mingle with NPC supporters and special guests on the grounds of Guild Hall with drinks and catered refreshments.
8:00 pm–A performance of short one act plays with Cathy Curtin (Orange Is The New Black, Stranger Things), Blythe Danner, and more, featuring works by award-winning playwrights Lucy Boyle, Monica Brauer, Halley Feiffer, and Catherine Filloux.
