LGBT Gala for HILLARY at Cipriani in NYC with Barbra Streisand
Our next president, Hillary Rodham Clinton, spoke at an evening hosted by her daughter Chelsea Clinton, an LGBT advocate, and trailblazing actress Laverne Cox. The sit-down dinner at Cipriani in NYC featured a special performance by the incomparable Barbra Streisand singing amongst others “People,” “Pure Imagination,” “Happy Days Are Here Again,” but her parody of “Send in the Clowns” with revised lyrics aimed at Donald Trump was a riot. “Is he that rich? Maybe he’s poor? ‘Til he reveals his returns who can be sure. Who needs this clown?”.
Rufus Wainwright also performed Over theRainbow, a song made famous by the legendary Judy Garland. Other attendees included Kathy Najimy, Cynthia Nixon, Andrew Rannels, Debra Messing, Michael Urie, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Donna Karan, Diane von Furstenberg, and Isaac Mizrahi.
