Jonathan Nash Glynn Solo Show at Colm Rowan Fine Art in East Hampton
April 24, 2022: Over 100 people attended the opening reception of Jonathan Nash Glynn’s abstract paintings at Colm Rowan Fine Art in East Hampton, on Saturday, April 23. This was his first solo show at this three-year old gallery, located at 55 Main Street in East Hampton, in the walkway next to the Ralph Lauren barn. Art lovers milled around the gallery and into the walkway and courtyard. Among them were musician G.E. Smith and former East Hampton Town Councilman Jeff Bragman.
Jonathan Nash Glynn, of Sag Harbor, is also a pilot. He flew medical supplies to Haiti in his private plane, after the 2010 earthquake. After seeing the devastation, he formed a non-profit organization, “Wings Over Haiti,” to build schools there to educate and feed the poor children. Glynn and the gallery are donating 50% of the profits from his show to this cause. His show is running daily through May 22. He attributes the bright colors in his multi-layered large abstract paintings, to those colors he saw in Haiti.
Colm Rowan, who was born in Ireland, exhibits international, national and local artists at his gallery. He has owned art galleries in the British Isles and Philadelphia before coming to East Hampton. For more information visit colmrowan.com or call 610-256-3256.
