November 9th 25th Anniversary of Jamie deRoy & friends and deRoy’s 40th Annual 30th Birthday Gala to Benefit Actors Fund Cabaret Initiative

On November 9, 13-time Tony nominee [five wins] and 14-time Drama Desk nominee [five wins] producer, singer, actress Jamie deRoy is celebrating another [#40] eagerly-anticipated 30th Birthday Gala on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of her cabaret and TV variety show, Jamie deRoy & friends. Showtime at the Gerald W. Lynch Theatre [at John Jay College, 524 West 59th Street and Ninth Avenue] is 7:30.
deRoy is also an eight-time MAC, four-time Bistro, and 11-time Telly Award winner as well as the recipient of a CaB Magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award,
As with any Jamie deRoy & friends show, there’ll be a colorful array of stars: Joy Behar, Robert Cuccioli, Larry Gatlin, Jay Johnson, Michele Lee,and Luba Mason. Proceeds benefit the newly-established Actors Fund’s Jamie deRoy & friends Cabaret Initiative, created to assist those artists working in the cabaret industry with medical and other needs through the vast comprehensive services of the Fund.
"I’ve always enjoyed attending Actors Fund events honoring theater performers and learning about the great job the Fund does to support the performing arts community," says deRoy. "My career has had me performing is more cabarets that I’d like to mention, but it got me thinking how do a great number of these artists find needed support in times of crisis and transition. Now, there’ll be this program for performers when they need a place to turn for health and support."

deRoy’s colorful cabaret series spotlights a wide variety of stars as well as emerging talent from the cabaret, theater, music, and comedy arena.
The Actors Fund, celebrating 133 years, is a national human services organization that helps performing arts professionals and those behind the scenes. Services support more than 21,000 people annually and thousands more with online programs. The Fund serves professionals in film, theater, TV, music, opera, radio, and dance with a safety net for those in need, crisis, or transition.
