By: Ellis Nassour
Tony winners and cabaret headliners will make up an A-List killer line-up of star power January 9 at 7 P.M. at I Love The Nightlife, a 90-minute musical tribute saluting the upcoming Nightlife Awards and its producer Scott Siegel at the Jerry Orbach Theatre/Snapple Center [elevator entrance, 50th Street, just west of Broadway].
Karen Akers, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Charles Busch, Jim Caruso, Scott Coulter, Gregg Edelman, Debbie Gravitte, Julie Halston, Bill Irwin, Maxine Linehan, William Michaels, Jane Monheit, Carolyn Montgomery-Forant, Julie Reyburn, and Elizabeth Stanley are among the performers. Some tickets include a post-show reception with the stars.
The event, initiated by Montgomery-Forant is to pay tribute to the 13th annual Nightlife Awards, taking place January 27, at 7 P.M., at Town Hall, and it’s indefatigable producer and long-time mega supporter of cabaret Scott Siegel of Broadway by the Year and Broadway Unplugged fame.
Tickets for I Love the Nightlife are $40 general admission, $75 prime seating and reception; and $100, premium seating with reception. They’re available at the Snapple Center box office or by calling (212) 921-7862.
The January 27 Nightlife Awards will be hosted by Emmy winning wit Bruce Vilanch. The awards honor the best cabaret, comic, and jazz performers, who, instead of giving acceptance speeches, perform. Among scheduled guest performers are Jason Robert Brown, Bill Irwin, and Nellie McKay.
Nightlife Awards tickets are $27-$77 and available at the Town Hall box office or at SiegelEntertainment@msn.com; and also through Ticketmaster outlets or www.ticketmaster.com (service charges apply).
