The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) SummerDoc series continued at Guild Hall on Friday with the screening of THE SHORT GAME, a film about eight talented boys and girls ages seven and eight, who descend on Pinehurst, NC to compete in the World Championship of Junior Golf with 1500 young golfers from 54 countries, all with aspirations of becoming the next great golf phenomenon. Director Josh Greenbaum turned his lens on the stories of these eight youngsters and their families as they vie for the championship. The film is a fascinating and often funny look at a group of young athletes and their struggles navigating in this highly competitive subculture of junior golf.

Sky Sudberry
Prior to the screening Charles and Mary Jane Brock hosted an intimate reception for HIFF with Josh Greenbaum and Sky Sudberry, one of the talented eight youngsters from his film. An entertaining and witty Alec Baldwin, the series presenter, emceed the festivities at the Brocks that included a putt-off with the talented Sky. After the screening at Guild Hall Mr. Baldwin moderated a discussion with the film’s director, Sky, and HIFF Artistic Direcor David Nugent.
The 21st Annual Hamptons International Film Festival will be held over Columbus Day Weekend, October 10th – 14th 2013. The festival founded in 1993 and taking place in the historic seaside villages of the Hamptons has become one the leading film festivals of the world. PC August 30,2013
