Handle With Care, a new romantic comedy by Emmy Award Nominee Jason Odell Williams, opened on Sunday, December 15 at The Westside Theatre Downstairs at 407 W 43rd Street. Directed by Karen Carpenter (Love, Loss and What I Wore) the heaartwarming tale follows a young Israeli woman named Ayelet, who reluctantly travels with her grandmother to America. Fate brings the young woman, who has little command of English, together with a handsome young American man that has little command of her language. Just twenty months ago the young man lost his wife, yet he is instantly attracted to the young woman. The play puts forth the often amusing premise that their meeting is no mere accident, but indeed destiny generations in the making?
The cast includes Broadway legend Carol Lawrence, a Tony nominee for the original production of West Side Story, as the mother Edna, Charlotte Cohn as her daughter Ayelet, Sheffield Chastain as the play’s catalyst Terrance, and Jonathan Sale as Josh the handsome stranger. .
