The NYC premiere of Jane Martin’s H20 opened at 59E59 Theaters
Ground UP Productions is presenting playwright Jane Martins H20, a madcap yet touching two hander, staring Diane Mair and Alex Podulke. In H20 Director West Hylers’ captivating staging takes us on a emotional roller coaster ride of emotions with his two outstanding actors. Like Water H20‘s cast of two Diane Mair, who plays Deborah, is as calm as the deep blue sea and Alex Podulke, who plays Jake, is like the fury of a raging river. The combustible chemistry of the two talented actors make for a thrilling evening of theater.

The story follows an aimless young man, Jake played by Podulke, who catapults to movie stardom and into Hollywood’s celebrity culture. Banking on his fame and name, he is selected to star on Broadway in Hamlet. Given full casting approval, he travels to New York City in search of his Ophelia. Once there he encounters his Deborah played by Diane Mair, who is his match and becomes his muse. She is a young evangelical Christian woman set on getting the role and transforming Jake’s life.
Jane Martin’s return to New York City with H20 after her play Flags at 59E59 is an entertaining and engrossing power struggle of two determined spirits in search of fame and love.
The design team includes David Arsenault (set design), Travis McHale (lighting design), Amanda Jenks (costume design), and Toby Algya (sound design). The production stage manager is Devan Hibbard.
