The Broadway star and 2002 Kennedy Center Honoree Chita Rivera, performed a deliciously unique solo concert at Guild Hall in East Hampton on Saturday, July 23rd. The incomparable two time Tony Award winning star recreated signature moments form her legendary career, including numbers from West Side Story, Sweet Charity, Chicago, Bye Bye Birdie, The Rink and The Visit. She sang and danced while regaling us with stories from her distinctive career including a special tribute to her dear friends John Kander & Fred Ebb while embodying the spirt of youth. She was simply FANTASTIC and an inspiration as anyone who saw the November 2015 PBS Great Performance special, Chita Rivera: A Lot of Livin’ To Do retrospective of her extraordinary career and life, can attest. Chita was awarded The Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2009, and she currently has a new solo CD, And Now I Sing.
