Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor presented "A Divine Evening with Charles Busch," a heartfelt cabaret show by the renowned Theater Icon Charles Busch, a Tony nominated playwright and female impersonator extraordinaire, accompanied by Tom Judson on Saturday July 26th. The incomparable Mr. Busch, who has starred in three shows at Bay Street Theater including Auntie Mame and his own plays Shanghai Moon and The Lady In Question, held court to an adoring audience of admirers.
The charming evening was a close facsimile to his recent week long engagement at 54 Below in New York City and includes bittersweet songs along with witty tales from his legendary career. The star stayed in drag afterwards to greet VIP ticket holders at a party in the theater lobby, posing for photos with almost everyone there.
Charles is the subject of the acclaimed documentary film The Lady in Question is Charles Busch. He is also a two-time MAC award winner and has performed his cabaret act in many cities around the United States. In 2003, Mr. Busch received a special Drama Desk Award for career achievement as both performer and playwright.
