New Home for Bay Street Theater to be completed by 2023

April 8, 2021:  At a zoom press conference on Tuesday morning Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor announced their exciting plans for 22 Long Island Avenue, the property the not for profit purchased in October for 13.9 million dollars. The goal was to create a new “state of the art” purpose built home at the entrance to Sag Harbor with two theaters and facilities to accommodate their year- round educational programs.

March 5, 2021: Bay Street Theater’s Family Skating Party will take place on Sunday at Buckskill Winter Club, 178 Buckskill Road, to benefit Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts. The event billed as a Broadway Skating Party is a fun filled family happening for the young at heart. Calling all parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends! October 12, 2020: The 28th Hamptons International Film Festival, presented by HamptonsFilm, announced their award winners at a virtual ceremony. Handing out over $29,500 in cash awards and $130,000 in goods and services. This year’s festival is running October 8 – 14 with virtual screenings and drive-ins.

ARF Stroll to the Sea Virtual Dog Walk

September 18, 2020: East Hampton, N.Y., The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, Inc. (ARF) announces that its annual “Stroll to the Sea” Dog Walk presented by Chaser and The Corcoran Group will be a VIRTUAL walk this year due to COVID-19. The event, now in its 27th year, will still be a fun, family outing that is intended to promote responsible dog ownership and awareness of ARF while raising important funds for the cats and dogs.

 January 25, 2020:  Everybody has a story and LTV, East Hampton’s Media Center and Public Access Television station, presented several personal stories on fear , loathing and desire featuring Joy Behar, Patrick Christiano, Dell Cullum, Bryan Downey, Steven Gaines, Alfredo Merat, Mercedes Ruehl, Telly and Andrew Visconti. The evening at the LTV Media Center in Wainscott was hosted by LTV’s Creative Director Angela LaGreca.

Gurney’s Montauk New Year’s Eve 2020

“The Roaring 20’s” was the theme for New Year’s Eve at Gurney’s in Montauk.

January 1, 2020: Guests at Gurney’s, on the brink of the Atlantic Ocean in Montauk, stepped back in time to ring in the New Year “Roaring 20’s” style and danced to live 20’s inspired jazz and a DJ Vikas. The weekend was full of programming from champagne sabering classes to fitness pop-ups, and Gurney’s annual New Year’s Day Polar Plunge. Also available was a delectable five course dinner at Scarpetta Beach, Gurney’s amazing 5-star restaurant overlooking the ocean. There were two separate dinner seatings before the ball dropped in Times Square at midnight.

Guests toasted the season and rediscovered the gardens at this special time of the year.

November 30, 2019: LONGHOUSE, 133 Hands Creek Road in East Hampton, hosted a festive gathering with holiday music. Guests toasted the holiday season with hot apple cider rum toddy’s, Kaluah & coffee, and hot chocolate while touring the gardens and mingling with neighbors. Many people left personal wishes on the Yoko Ono Wish Tree, near the entrance to LONGHOUSE, when they departed.

Literature Live @ Bay Street

A Raisin in the Sun, a classic play by Lorraine Hansberry, at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor through December 1, 2019.

November 17, 2019: Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor is presenting a searing production of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, directed by Lydia Fort. Literature live, now in its 11th season at Bay Street Theater, is staging the classic, which is celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of the play’s first production on Broadway.  Literature Live brings classic works to middle and high school students for free. Since the program began 11 years ago over 30,000 students have seen live theater at Bay Street, many for the first time.

The show features work by Eric Dever of the Berry Campell Gallery, NYC, Kimberly Goff, Bruce Lieberman and Ann Lombardo plus rare works from The legacy Collection from Elaine Benson including Priscilla Bowden, Warren Brandt, John Day, Jimmy Ernst, Zero Mostel, Alfonso Osorio and Kathe Tanous.

All were welcome, kids and pets, too, at the ARF Adoption Center in East Hampton for tricks-and-treats, a haunted agility course for dogs, low-cost vaccines for your pets, adoptions, contests and so much more. Offering FVRCP, DA2PP, bordetella, rabies and microchipping for just $10 each! For cats and dogs only. $25 fee for each vaccine for unaltered animals. No appointment was necessary.
