Broadway by the Year Kicks Off Season 14 February 24 with Galaxy of Stars
By: Ellis Nassour

Broadway by the Year creator, writer, and host Scott Siegel says he "wanted to do something completely different" to kick off Season 14 of his acclaimed and popular series. It’s a whopper of an idea! He’s harkening back to the fabled years of M-G-M, the studio that claimed they had "more stars than there are in the heavens."
This season Siegel and Town Hall will go big – really big. The four power concerts will not only cover 100 Years of Broadway and some 100 musicals and revues, but will do it with hundreds of stars.
Step right up! Get ya tickets now! It’s gonna be big – BIG! Town Hall may have to extend the width and depth of its stage!
The new season gets underway February 24 at 8 P.M. with Broadway Musicals of 1915-1939, covering 25 years with 25 performers from the world of Broadway, including Tony, Drama Desk, and Grammy winners and nominees; cabaret, including Nightlife Award winners; and dance, created by notable choreographers.
As he has for all the years of Broadway by the Year, Siegel will reminisce with memories of past shows, their stars, and interesting facts of the period. Accompanying the singers will be series music director Ross Patterson and his Little Big Band. Of course, as always, you can expect some Siegel surprises, such as a few "unplugged" moments.

Among those set to entertain for the season opener are Karen Akers, Sebastian Arcelus, Stephanie J. Block, Stephanie D’Abruzzo, Carole J. Bufford, Carolee Carmello, John Easterlin, Howard Fishman, Danny Gardner, Beth Leavel, Karen Mason, Julia Murney, Mark Nadler, Tonya Pinkins, Noah Racey, Camille Saviola, Emily Skinner, Lari White, Chip Zien, and, as Siegel is so fond of saying, "and still more to come!" Shows will also feature the Broadway by the Year Chorus. Directing is Scott Coulter.
Broadway by the Year tickets are $47 – $57 and available at the Town Hall box office and through TicketMaster.com or (800) 982-2787. To book a season subscription with best seats available, contact (212) 997-1003.
