The Broadway Beauty Pageant now in 7th year is a hilarious show benefiting the Ali Forney Center, NYC s leading resource for homeless LGBTQ youth. At the annual event male performer from current Broadway shows compete for the title. Award winning actress Tovah Feldshuh returned as host this year and the contestants were Callan Bergmann (Silence! The Musical), Julius C. Carter (SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark), Yurel Echezarreta (Matilda), Matthew Goodrich (The Nance), Orion Griffiths (Pippin), and Paul HeeSang Miller (Mamma Mia!). Celebrity judges, Andrea Martin (Pippin), Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar), and Billy Porter (Kinky Boots) put the contestants through their paces in talent, interviews and the swimsuit competition, however, in the end the audience cast ballots to choose the winner of the crown, Orion Griffits from Pippin, who wowed the sold out audience with acrobatic performance.
