Earlier this year, Barrett returned for his 12th visit to Chicago, of course, as Billy Flynn. In 2001, the towering Barrett joined the revival of Annie Get Your Gun
as Reba McIntire’s foil and main squeeze Frank Butler.

He was nominated for an Olivier Award for his starring role in the London premiere of the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Kiss Me, Kate, opposite Rachel York, which was taped for PBS and is available on DVD. He made his Broadway debut in the 1980 revival of West Side Story [as Diesel]. Also the recipient of a Los Angeles Drama Critics’ Award, he had a record-shattering run as you-know-who in the reimagined Las Vegas premiere of Lloyd-Webber and Hart’s Phantom [of the Opera].

Barrett also starred in the City Center Encores! production of The Pajama Game, opposite Karen Ziemba. In addition to numerous CDs and regional and international productions, his roles include the 1997 revival of Candide [cast album], Forrest/Wright/Yeston’s Grand Hotel, opposite George Rose and Len Cariou in Lerner and Strouse’s short-lived Dance a Little Closer, and as Captain Hook opposite Cathy Rigby in the national tour of Peter Pan.
