N UP," their 3rd Annual Spring Benefit, at Joe’s Pub in NYC on May 12. The event, which honored Bonnie Comley and Stewart Lane along with Pia and Jimmy Zankel, also featured a preview of Bay Street’s 2014 Mainstage Season under new Artistic Director Scott Schwartz.
Scott Schwartz hosted the evening and put together a preview of the exciting 2014 Mainstage Summer season of ‘Art & Revolution’ that featured presentations and performances by many of the stars and creators of the upcoming productions. Playwright Carey Crim along with actors Garret Dillahunt and Elizabeth Reaser were there for CONVICTION, a World Premiere drama, which will be directed by Scott Schwartz and presented at Bay Street May 27-June 15. Richard Kind and Julia Motyka were there for TRAVESTIES, a Tony award-winning comedy classic by Tom Stoppard, directed by Gregory Boyd, which will run June 24 – July 20. Actors Robert Cuccioli, Kathleen Monteleone, Howie Michael Smith, and pianist Daniel Rein were there to perform songs from the World Premiere of MY LIFE IS A MUSICAL, a new musical comedy with the book, music and lyrics by Adam Overett, which will be directed and choreographed by Marlo Hunter.
"Our honorees truly represent the best of what it means to be supporters of the arts," said Tracy Mitchell, Executive Director of Bay Street Theatre.
