More than $325,000 was raised for the East Hampton Library at the 11th Annual Author’s Night Benefit.

Almost 2,500 people attended East Hampton Library’s 11th Annual Authors Night benefit held at 4 Maidstone Lane in the Village of East Hampton on Saturday, August 8, 2015. Over 3,000 books were sold in the most successful Authors Night ever featuring 100 authors from across all genres. The benefit event has become one of the leading annual literary happenings in America.
Governor Pataki attended with his wife Libby to support their daughter Allison Pataki, who was one of the participating authors. The evening began at 5:00 pm with an Authors Book Signing Cocktail Reception under a tent, where guests enjoyed delici

ous hors d’oeuvres and wine while have an opportunity to meet and mingle with the authors. Many attendees bought books, and had them personally inscribed.
At 8 pm, directly following the Authors Reception, select guests were invited to private dinner parties at the homes of hosts in honor of one of the guest authors at each respective dinner party. One of the hottest tickets was the dinner party honoring the legendary TV host and author Dick Cavett. The party was hosted by Ted Hartley at the oceanfront compound he shares with his wife Dina Merriill in East Hampton. I overheard Alec Baldwin, one the event’s founding Co-chairs, tell Mr. Cavett he would see him later.
