East Hampton Library has Alec Baldwin, Alan Alda, and Dick Cavett amongst 100 Authors at Annual fundraiser.
August 12, 2017: East Hampton Library’s Authors Night was the literary event of the season for residents of the East End. Under a big white tent on Maidstone Lane across from Town Pond and down a dirt drive in East Hampton you could get up close and personal with some of your favorite scribes. The annual cocktail reception/book signing drew over a 100 authors from all over the globe to the tiny hamlet where they met close to 3,000 attendees from 5 to 7:30 pm.
Afterwards there were dinners at private homes with selected authors so you could dine with Alec Baldwin and his beautiful wife, Hilaria, who signed copies of The Living Clearly Method, or Robyn Lea, who flew in from Australia. Her book, Dinner with Georgia O’Keeffe: Recipes, Art, Landscapes, a stunning coffee table book highlighting the artist’s career and life in Santa Fe, or Elizabeth Vargas, the broadcast journalist and author of last year’s “Between Breaths,” a memoir of her struggles with anxiety and alcoholism, or pick your favorite from the authors attending the private dinners.
Author’s night was a huge success this year with all of the proceeds benefiting the East Hampton Library.
