Saturday, February 25, 2012 ACA Galleries in association with The NY Open Center hosted an inspiring talk with author Agapi Stassinopoulos, whose book “Unbinding the Heart,” was released by Hay House Publications just 24 days ago. Agapi is a Greek actress, who to quote Jeffery Bergen, "Has forgotten more about love than most people know." Her new book is filled with stories from her life the author refers to as “pivotal moments of great awareness,” which have aided her in opening her heart to the joy and happiness of unconditional love.
Agapi, who recently appeared on The Martha Stewart Show, said the “book is my love song” and took her “a year and a lifetime” to write. She feels all people are on the same journey to go inside and face the darkness, to walk through the fear and find themselves and their power. Those who attended were clearly moved by the actress’s accounts of removing the ties that bound her heart and “Unbinding the Heart” sounds like a useful tool to tuning into what’s most important in our lives.
As a backdrop to the afternoon event ACA GALLERIES has extended their current exhibition, “Theodoros Stamos – Evidence of Wonder: A Survey 1940 – 1990s, through March 10, 2012. Born in New York to Greek parents Stamos may be the youngest member of the first generation of the Abstract Expressionists, and his work is in numerous international museum collections. The exhibition of large acrylic paintings on canvas, along with the artist’s sculpture is most impressive.
