Christine EbersoleScott Siegel outdid himself this year at the 2010 NIGHTLIFE AWARDS hosted by a raucous Bruce Vilanch at Town Hall. Conceived and produced by Scott the awards honor the critic’s selections from the New York club world – cabaret, jazz, and comedy. The winners perform instead of giving the usual acceptance speechs. Everyone was wonderful, but Christine Ebersole, Cheyenne Jackson, Tovah Feldshuh, and James Barbour were stand outs from the marvelous evening directed by Scott Thompson with musical direction by Tedd Firth
A Festive Holiday Party was held by The Drama Desk at Arte Restaurant.

Lane and his beautiful wife Bonnie Comley along with Arts Horizons founder John R. Devol. Stewart and Bonnie were presented with The Paul Newman Award for services to the arts and children, while Mr. Devol was given The Celeste Holm Lifetime Achievement Award. Founded in 1978 by John Devol Arts Horizons inspires children, improves education, trains teachers and provides hope.

Scott Siegel’s Broadway Unplugged featured Bill Daugherty, Jeffry Denman John Easterlin, Kelsey Fowler, Lisa Howard, Marc Kudisch, Sarah Jane McMahon, Janet Metz, William Michals, Manu Narayan, Jill Paice, Daniel Reichard, Emily Skinner, Tony Yazbeck and others at Town Hall this past Monday November 16th. The successful concerts series that has become a staple at Town Hall on Monday nights with great stars singing great songs the old fashioned way with no microphones was the brainchild of host Scott Siegel. The 2010 Nightlife Awards will be held on January 25, 2010

Elysabeth Kleinhans of 59E59 Theaters and Allan Buchman of the Culture Project were honored respectively with the TRU Spirit Award and the 2009 TRU Humanitarian Award at Theater Resources Unlimited Tru Love Benefit 2009 at Carolines on Broadway. The luncheon featured songs and readings from shows that made debuts at the Culture Project and 59E59 Theaters this past season.

Tovah FeldshuhThe gifted Friar Tovah Feldshuh was honored with a star studded musical celebration at The Friars Club, which featured Len Cariou, Jim Dale, Lee Roy Reams, P.J. Benjamin, Dr. Joy Browne, Christine Pedi, Martin Vidnovic, George S. Irving Douglas J. Cohen and others. Tovah became the first woman to receive The Friars Thespian Award for Lifetime Achievement presented to her by Dean Freddie Roman at the evening produced by the incomparable Randie Levine-Miller.
