The Friars Club presented an awesome musical evening to kick off the Fall Season with Broadways stars Beth Fowler, Anita Gillette, Jackie Hoffman, Victoria Mallory, Christine Pedi, Kurt Peterson (Divo), Jana Robbins and Melinda Sullivan. Producer Randie Levine-Miller who not only hosted this very memorable show also surprised the audience with a special treat by performing as well. Bravo!

The 2009 Tony Awards will be televised live on CBS this Sunday June 7th at 8 pm.

Jennifer Muller in partnership with Ross School presented  "Twilight in the Garden of Hope," a marvelous program five dance excerpts from "Tub," "Path," Walking It Off," "Bench," and the glorious finale "Momentum." Fifteen dancers from Muller’s NYC based dance company, The Works, who routinely perform around the world, danced on the lawn of Rory Riggs’ Further Lane estate in East Hampton.

Special guest Van Jones, who serves as President Obama’s special advisor for Green Jobs, on the White House Council for Environmental Quality spoke to 120 quests at the Riverkeeper’s first annual Hamptons EcoSalon benefit hosted by Joan & George Hornig at their Water Mill Estate. The group including Lorraine Bracco, James Lipton and Karim Abdul Jabar were treated to a brief environmentally focused program led by ardent Riverkeeper supporter Christie Brinkley, Hudson Riverkeeper and President Alex Matthiessen.

Jan Sawka, Patrick Christiano, Arturo O’Farrill

The Ocean View Art Center and guest co-host ACA Galleries of New York presented a selective retrospective of Jan Sawka at the Principi Art Barn, 551 Montauk Highway in Amagansett.  Sawka, a renaissance man of our times was part of the Polish Poster “School” of the 1960’s and 70’s and was well known for his set designs for avant-garde theater of that era. In the mid-1980’s he established himself on the gallery scene of New York as well as continuing his set design work with renowned NYC theater companies. After 1991, he shifted his focus toward Asia collaborating with Japanese experts and turning his focus to multi-media projects.
