New York Musical Festival Promises a Summer of Theater with the Stars

The line-up of A-list stars for the Drama Desk-winning New York Musical Theatre Festival of musicals, readings, and concerts, July 11 – August 7, is beyond impressive.
Among those onboard for NYMP 2016,the13th annual series, are Tony nominees American Psycho’s Jennifer Damiano (for Next to Normal), Once’s Elizabeth A. Davis, Priscilla…’s Tony Sheldon; and Fun Home’s Emily Skeggs.
Also appearing will be In the Heights’ DD winner (Ensemble) Mandy Gonzalez; Assassins’ DD nominee Alexander Gemignani; and TV star and recent Dames at Sea and Matilda co-star Lesli Margherita, Olivier Award winner for the West End’s Zorro. Sheldon also captured a DD nomination.
Behind the scenes will be Tony and DD winner Victoria Clark, who’ll be directing.
Dan Markley is NYMF exec director/producer. Festival curation is by director of programming/artist services Rachel Sussman. The jury panel deciding the Festival lineup included Michael Cerveris, Donna Lynne Champlin, Gretchen Cryer, producer Jane Dubin, Santino Fontana, Montego Glover, Fox Stage’s Isaac Robert Hurwitz , director West Hyler, National Black Theater’s Jonathan McCrory, Sheldon, director Leigh Silverman, and choreographer Sergio Trujillo.
