Tricia Walsh-Smith’s play “Addictions” will be presented in London and Los Angeles this May. The one night only events will be special benefit performance starring the film actress Trudie Styler, who has been married to the rock star Sting since 1991 and will be directed by the British actor Christopher Biggins.

First up will be the LA reading at the Ray Kurtzman Theater, followed later that month by the presentation at the Duchess Theatre in London’s West End. The evenings will benefit The Kevin Walsh Foundation to aid individuals struggling with drug or alcohol abuse.

British playwright Tricia Walsh-Smith is the author of the hit play “Bonkers,” which premiered in London. She wrote “Addictions” in response to her younger brother Kevin’s suicide. “Addictions had its East Cost premiere in New York at a celebrity reading benefiting the Caron Treatment Centers, a leader in treatment for addiction, a little over a year ago. That one night only reading also featuring Ms. Styler raised close to a million dollars.

Incidentally Tricia will be the subject of a new documentary produced by Freestyle Productions, a UK-based film production company. Set to film in the UK and USA, the feature will examine Tricia's own personal struggle with addiction as well as her creative journey as an author, actress, producer, and philanthropist.
