The Hamptons International Film Festival presented a new film by Susan Lacy at Guild Hall in East Hampton.

October 22, 2018:  HIFF presented an East coast screening of an HBO Documentary Film,  Jane Fonda In Five Acts by award making filmmaker Susan Lacy, at Guild Hall in East Hampton. A packed house showed up to see the film before the film’s October 24th release date on HBO. HFF’s Co-Chair Alec Baldwin moderated a Q&A with Director Susan Lacy afterwards.

August 26, 2018:  The 43rd Hampton Classic Horse Show opened Sunday morning to a pristine blue sky, welcoming horses and riders to this spectacular annual equestrian and social event. For the next seven days the Hampton Classic will host the highest levels of competition for hunter-jumper horses and riders of all ages and abilities. From the youngest leadline riders (ages 2+!) all the way to Olympic and World Champions, the prestigious Hampton Classic Horse Show attracts the best of the best.

August 26, 2018:  Andrea McCafferty and Kat O’Neill, Co-Directors of The White Room Gallery, 2415 Main Street, in Bridgehampton hosted the opening reception for an exciting new exhibition, “Outside the Box,” featuring Donna Bernstein, Steve Cohen, Jackie Fuchs, and Karen L Kirshner, which will be on view at The White Room Gallery through September 10th.  The piano man himself, Billy Joel turned up to support his friend, Steve Cohen, who just happens to be Billy Joel’s lighting designer as well. Steve, who has been painting with light his entire career, is a guest on Spotlight on the Arts this week chatting about his art and process. Check it out! August 23, 2018:  Stephen Wilkes’s wildly popular “Day to Night” Series are exciting images of the most beloved cities and sites of the world. As part of his on going series he wanted to capture the iconic Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles which he felt captures the essence of Southern California. Wilkes photographs from a stationary 50 foot crane. All explained on a “CBS Sunday Morning” segment Shooting 12 hours from day to night and gathering 1,200 to 1,500 image into form one image from dawn to dusk. He was recently featured in newest National Geographic Issue celebrating the 100th anniversary of the State Parks in America.  He is on a quest to complete his vision photographing for an upcoming a fine art publication. National Geographic Museum featured an exhibit earlier this year.

ARF Bow Wow Meow Ball

An elegant evening honoring David Monn in East Hampton.

August 18, 2018:  The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons hosted the Bow Wow Meow Ball at the ARF’s 22-acre campus in Wainscott in the midst of heavy showers, which didn’t dampen the spirits or enthusiasm of 400 high-profile guests from New York and the Hamptons. The affair honored event designer David Monn and his beloved Sammy with the Champion of Animals Award, in recognition of his dedication and service to animal welfare. His spectacular design for the evening with stunning lighting and hanging plants was the backdrop for an elegant evening. Katharina Otto-Bernstein and Peter Marino presented the award to Mr. Monn.

East Hampton Library’s 14th Annual Authors Night

August 11, 2018:  The literary event of the Hamptons and one of our country’s leading annual literary celebrations began at 5 pm with the Authors Book Signing Reception under a tent in Amagansett, where  guests enjoyed scrumptious hors d’oeuvres and fine wine while mingling with the over 100 authors.  The evening provides an opportunity to have books personally inscribed by the authors when purchasing. Afterwards at 8 pm twenty-four private dinner parties  featuring one or more of the guest authors, followed the reception.

Hayground School’s “Chefs Dinner”

Renowned Chef, Jacques Pepin, honored at the 14th Annual Hayground School’s benefit “Chefs Dinner.”

July 29, 2018:  Ten chefs prepared a five-course meal in honor of Jacques Pépin at the 14th annual Hayground School’s benefit “Chefs Dinner” on Sunday, July 29 on the School’s grounds in Bridgehampton, NY. The Chefs included Josh Capon, Jessica Craig, Christian Mir, Ayesha Nurdjaja, Francois Payard, Joe Realmuto, Hillary Sterling, Bill Telepan, Carissa Waechter, and Jason Weiner.  The benefit dinner raises much-needed financial aid for Hayground School, an inclusive, diverse school that incorporates an expansive Edible Garden/Kitchen Science program into its curriculum on its pastoral grounds. The honorary chairpersons of the Chefs Dinner are Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick.

Annual Benefit Gala honors Dustin Yellin and Joe Melillo.

August 21, 2018:  Jack Lenor Larsen and the Board of Trustees of the LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton hosted their annual LongHouse Summer Benefit Gala. The event celebrating Brooklyn honored Dustin Yellin, who founded Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn, and Joseph Mellilo, executive producer responsible for the artistic direction of Brooklyn Academy of Music since 1999.  Yellin’s dynamic sculptures, “Garbage Can Rocket,” steel, concrete, enamel paint, 144 x 38 x 38,” and “Bathroom Rocker,” steel, aluminum, cement board, ceramic tile, 180 x36 36”, gifts of the artist, are installed on the grounds.
