Grammy Award winning folk legend, Joan Baez, performed to a sold out audience at WHBPAC (West Hampton Beach Performing Arts Center) on Sunday July 26. The evening (sponsored, in part, by the Ann Liguori Foundation, sold out quickly when first announced. Her appreciative audience was a testament to her acclaimed status. Next up is Joan Rivers, another sold happening at WHBPAC, this Friday July 31.
Fresh off her resounding success at the Metropolitan Room in NYC, which compelled Stephen Holden to gush her praises in the NY Times, Marilyn Maye held court at Guild Hall, where this “national treasure” enraptured the audience at The John Drew Theater. Her performance was an inspirational celebration of life spanning a wide array of music including Johnny Mercer, Ray Charles, Kander and Ebb, and even Jack Feldman, who was in attendance at the benefit evening sponsored by The Board of Trustees of Guild Hall and Co-Chairs. An intimate dinner followed at the Maidstone Tennis Club.

Tony award winning actor Eli Wallach starred in a reading of Jeff Baron’s "Visiting Mr. Green" at Guild Hall on Sunday June 21. The stage and movie veteran turned in a skillfully nuanced performance opposite the young Peter Sabri in the moving two hander helmed by James Larocca. A talk back with the audience followed the performance produced by Guild Hall in association the Playwrights’ Theatre of East Hampton.

This past Saturday evening June 20 the Ross School in Sag Harbor kicked off their Hampton’s summer season with the 6th annual Club Starlight Benefit for the Ross School programs and scholarships, where Martha Stewart was honored for her support of their students. On Sunday May 24, 09 Mickey Straus, chair, Guild Hall Board of Trustees Ruth Appelhof, Executive Director, Mayor Paul Rickenbach, Jr., East Hampton Village, State Asemblyman Fred Thiele, and hundreds of enthusiastic guests gathered to witness Mr. Straus cut the ribbon to the newly renovated state of the art John Drew Theater at Guild Hall in East Hampton after a 2 year renovation.
The John Drew is ready to go and specially invited guests were treated to a behind the scenes look at the newly restored “state of the art” theater, a project in progress for two years. Stage & screen legend Liza Minnelli, just off the heels of her stupendous show at the Palace Theater this past December and freshly restored herself, will officially launch the East Hampton Theater Season on Memorial Day weekend with the incomparable Billy Stritch at the piano.
