The stellar line-up of stars slated to perform for the 26th Annual Drama League Gala, a musical celebration, honoring Angela Lansbury at The Pierre will assuredly make for a memorable evening. The one night only black-tie gala hosted by Victor Garber and the international film star Catherine Zeta-Jones, both who are currently treading the Broadway boards in Present Laughter and A Little Night Music, respectively, will feature highlights from Ms. Lansbury’s illustrious career, including songs from Mame, Gypsy, Sweeney Todd, Beauty and the Beast, and Anyone Can Whistle.

Ardelle Striker Dies at 80

Ardelle Striker, Artistic Director of the Blue Heron Theatre/Arts Center (who would have been 81 in February) died on Thursday evening, December 3rd, 2009, after a valiant two year long battle against MDS (myelodisplastic syndrome).   She and her husband John had just celebrated their 60th Anniversary in November and he was at her bedside during her final struggle.

SPALDING GRAY: STORIES LEFT TO TELL a performance of words by one of Sag Harbor’s most renowned storytellers Spalding Gray featured an ensemble cast including Kathleen Chalfant, Michael Cunningham, Hazelle Goodman, Ain Gordon and Mercedes Ruehl.  The actors spoke directly to the audience, as Spalding himself would have done, focusing on different aspects of the writer’s life, including private journal entries, as well as excerpts from Gray’s unpublished works.

Pan Asian Repertory “Imelda”

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre became the talk of shoe business with its East Coast Premiere of “Imelda, A New Musical”. The production originated by the East West Players in LA opened at New York’s Julia Miles Theatre on September 30th. Running through October 18th, the show hosts 80 pairs of shoes (3,000 are lyricized), along with glam costumes, a rock score and a dazzling performance from Jaygee Macpugay as Imelda.

On October 5th, the Ali Forney Center honored NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Council Member Lewis A. Fidler for their work in bringing much needed resources to homeless LGBT youth. The celebratory event, “A Place At The Table” featured food tastings from NYC chefs, a presentation from Mayor Bloomberg, a spectacular live auction and a live performance by Rufus Wainwright with MC Justin Bond.

Chelsea has won many awards for her dancing including the "National Title Miss Jr. Starquest 2006" and the "Regional Starquest Artistic Award". Chelsea is also one of the background dancers in the music video with singer Tina Ann. When asked her aspirations? What else, "to someday appear in a Broadway musical."
