Scott Siegel Presents Musicals’ Original Stars May 20
As the announcer for the Lone Ranger might say, “Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear” for a nostalgic evening of Broadway musical tunes sung by those who introduced them. Well, so says, presenter and host Scott Siegel of his Broadway Originals revue on May 20 at 9:30 P.M. at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
An interesting and eclectic roster of singers has been assembled by Siegel, who’s also scripting the show, a sequel to the concept he presented at Town Hall for six years along with his acclaimed Broadway by the Year and Broadway Unplugged series.
“Oh the nostalgia!” sighs Siegel, barely able to contain his excitement of being able to gather these stars – many Tony and Drama Desk winners. “Decade upon decade of Broadway history will be on display as these artists relive memories and moments that thrilled audiences. They’ll perform tunes from more than a dozen musicals – tunes that made (and make) the Great White Way great! The opportunity to witness the glory of Broadway, up close and personal, has never been more reachable.”
