    Inside Broadway’s 2011 Broadway Beacon Awards

The remarkable professional New York City children’s theatre company, Inside Broadway, spear-headed by Executive Director Michael Presser, presented their 2011 Beacon Awards to a group of prestigious individuals who help to support the mission of furthering arts in education in NYC public schools.

The remarkable professional New York City children’s theatre company, Inside Broadway, spear-headed by Executive Director Michael Presser, presented their 2011 Beacon Awards to a group of prestigious individuals who help to support the mission of furthering arts in education in NYC public schools.

 

The event took place at The Players on Gramercy Park and the honorees included Broadway’s John Larroquette (Five-time Emmy Award winner, this year’s Tony Award nominee) from How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, playing opposite Daniel Radcliffe; Brooke Shields (Chicago, Cabaret, Wonderful Town, Grease) soon to step into the role of Morticia in the Broadway hit The Addams Family; Ofer Yardeni, real estate entrepreneur, managing partner & co-founder of Stonehenge Partners; and Christine Quinn, New York City Council Speaker (unable to attend).

Fox5’s Julie Chang served as Emcee for the event.

Performances included Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle Award winner Karen Ziemba, accompanied by Kenny Ascher.

Inside Broadway is now in its 29th year developing and producing touring equity musical productions and after school arts programs that give students the opportunity to interact, through hands-on experiences, with professionals in theatre.
