ARF TRANSFORMS THRIFT AND TREASURE SHOP INTO STUNNING DESIGNER SHOW HOUSELeading Interior Designers Create Beautiful Rooms to Raise Funds for Animals in Need on Long Island

On Saturday, May 25th the Animal Rescue Fund of The Hamptons (www.arfhamptons.org) will hold a cocktail party and sale at the ARF Thrift & Treasure Shop in Sagaponack.  The Thrift Shop will be transformed into an incredible designer show house featuring seven rooms and one outdoor space styled by some of New York’s most illustrious interior decorators. The event is Co-Chaired by Gordon H. Hoppe, Summer Louchheim, and Alex Papachristidis. All proceeds will benefit ARF and the organization’s dedicated work to find loving homes for animals in need.

The shop is a priority of the organization’s long term strategic planning as almost 10% of ARF’s annual operating budget comes from funds raised by the Thrift Shop. “Now in its ninth year, the ARF Designer Show House is a great kick-off to the summer season! We salute the designers who have brought such creativity to their assignment, and look forward to seeing everyone.  Please bring your friends; it is a fun way to support the animals” said Lisa McCarthy, ARF Board President.

The lineup of top designers, who will create rooms for the seventh annual show house, includes: Allison Babcock and Cristina Peffer of Babcock Peffer Design, Groundworks Landscaping, Patricia McGrath Design, Michael Murray of Rachael Ray Home with Tim Croneberger of Halcyon Design LLC and Robin Theismann, Alex Papachristidis Interiors, Roller Rabbit, Laura Sanatore of LMS Design LLC, and Anastasia Casale of Sag Harbor Florist. All the designers are animal lovers who are donating their time and expertise to help the ARF cats and dogs, who are less fortunate than their own beloved pets.  Each room will featureThrift Shop items and pieces donated from the designers’ own collections.  Unlike traditional show houses, every item in the ARF designer show house will be for sale.

Over 200 guests from the principals of the design world and the Hampton social community are expected to attend the preview cocktail party.  Guests will enjoy wine donated by Kontokosta Winery, and hors d’oeuvres by Fig & Pig, as they mingle and shop among the themed rooms.

The evening will also include a selection of ARF cats and dogs that will be available for adoption and looking to find a loving new home.

Doors open for the exclusive Benefactors Preview Hour ticket holders at 5:00 PM. General Admission opens at 6:00 PM. Following the preview party, the Thrift Shop will suggest a donation of a $10.00 entry fee to the general public (children free) on Sunday and Monday, May 26 and 27. All purchased items will stay in place until Tuesday, May 28 at which point they will be available for pick up.

Special thank you to our event sponsors, Kontokosta Winery in Greenport, and Room & Board announcing their new East Hampton Pop-Up.
