NY Metro Fest Salutes Beatles and 50th Anniversary of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band

The infectious spirit of Beatlemania will dominate the 43rd annual NY Metro Fest, March 3-5 at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City (2 Exchange Place). The event commemorates the legacy of the Fab Four and the  50th anniversary of the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album. A huge roster of Beatles-related guests will be participating along with fans from 30 states.

The infectious spirit of Beatlemania will dominate the 43rd annual NY Metro Fest, March 3-5 at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City (2 Exchange Place). The event commemorates the legacy of the Fab Four and the  50th anniversary of the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album. A huge roster of Beatles-related guests will be participating along with fans from 30 states.

There’ll be panel discussions, screenings, non-stop concerts, giveaways, exhibits, videos, booksignings, trivia, family activities, Karaoke, a poetry jam, the FABoratory Beatles Experimental Zone, all-weekend art contest, and the world’s largest Beatles marketplace.

Guests include George Harrison’s sister, Louise; former members of Paul McCartney’s WINGS and John Lennon’s Elephant’s Memory Band; Joey Molland, lLead guitarist of the Beatles Apple band Badfinger; Gene Cornish of the Rascals; and Hamburg-based Grammy winning album designer Klaus Voorman (Revolver and Anthology). A Fest highlight will be the exclusive U.S. screening of Looking For Lennon.

Liverpool, the famed Beatles tribute band will perform nightly. On Saturday there’ll be Sgt. Pepper tributes and , at 2 P.M., Mr. Ray’s Beatles4Kids Concert .

The musical line-up includes Friday night’s dance party, featuring 60s Dress-Up and Beatles Look-Alike contests; Saturday’s Sound-Alike contest; and Sunday’s Battle of the Bands.

Sunday evening hosts a drawing for a Las Vegas Beatles Getaway, a trip for two to the Mirage with tickets to Cirque du Soleil’s Beatles LOVE.

Since 1974, the Fest has donated close to $600,000.00 to the John Lennon and Yoko Ono Spirit Foundation and The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, and numerous other organizations.

Times and advance tickets, through March 2: Friday, March 3, 5 P.M.- midnight, $52; Saturday, March 4, noon – midnight, $78; Saturday, March 5, noon-10:30 P.M., $78; children 16 and under, half price; five and under, free.
